With exclusive resorts in Hawaii, Bali and Thailand rubbing shoulders with an 11th century Italian palace, we’ve chosen a little something for everybody. The one thing that all of our choices have in common? They’re renowned for having one of the top infinity pools in the world.
So, shall we take a look and see what made it onto our list of the top ten infinity pools?
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
Where else were we going to start? Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands is, without a day, the world’s most famous infinity pool resort, and with good reason. With over 1000 gaming tables and 1400 slot machines, you’ll never be bored, and the resort’s hotel towers a whopping fifty five storeys above Singapore’s impressive skyline. Right at the top of the resort is the main attraction – the infinity pool. An eye-watering 190m above the ground, the pool stretches out across 146m, making it the world’s longest infinity pool, as well as one of the most beautiful.
Grace Santorini, Greece
The first of two Greek resorts on this list, the Grace Santorini is an exclusive boutique hotel that can be found high up on the cliffs at Imerovigli, in the north west of Santorini. The huge infinity pool treats guests to views of the impressive Caldera Basin and is the perfect spot to enjoy one of Santorini’s iconic sunsets.
Anantara Golden Triangle Resort, Thailand
With views from the infinity pool treating guests to glimpses of the famed Golden Triangle: Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, the Anantara Resort has more than earned its spot on this list. An on-site elephant training camp allows guests to get close to these gentle giants in a respectful way that puts the emphasis on the animals’ comfort, and the resort’s holistic spa is the perfect place to relax at the end of each day.
Ubud Hanging Gardens, Bali
A jungle paradise in Ubud, Bali’s cultural heart, the Ubud Hanging Gardens is a beautiful resort that features an incredible split level infinity pool, which is surrounded by the neighbouring jungle landscape. You’ll truly feel as though you’re in another world as you swim out of the edge of the pool and take in the one of a kind view.
Katikies Hotel, Greece
The second entry from Santorini on our list, the Katikies Hotel can be found on the northernmost tip of the island. An oasis of whitewashed walls set amongst the sparkling blue of the Aegean Sea and the hotel’s jaw-dropping infinity pool, the resort boasts 27 boutique rooms, so is perfect for couples searching for a romantic getaway.
Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, Tanzania
A lot of the world’s best infinity pools can be found at resorts where relaxation is the main activity on offer, but the Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge offers a great deal more when it comes to adrenaline-pumping activities. Your days can be spent out on safari in the Tarangire National Park, where you may be lucky enough to spot lions and elephants, and your evenings can be spent unwinding in the resort’s luxury infinity pool, which looks out across the nearby Lake Manyara.
Six Senses Yao Noi, Thailand
On the Thai island of Koh Yao Noi, the Six Senses Yao Noi resort is a paradise of peace and tranquility, ideal for guests who are looking for a gentle, relaxing break. Based on a traditional Thai long-house, this resort offers guests views of both the lush hillside forests and the rolling, azure ocean. The huge infinity pool looks out across the National Geographic World Heritage limestone karsts of Phang Nga, and each individual guest villa features its very own infinity pool – so you’re getting two for one!
One & Only Reethi Rah Resort, Maldives
Reethi Rah could well be the poster child for world famous infinity pools! Known worldwide as one of the Maldives’ quietest and most picturesque beauty spots, the resort’s lagoon infinity pool stretches out towards the sea and gives the illusion that guests are swimming right into the ocean.
Hotel Caruso, Italy
Perched on a cliff top with a panoramic view of the Amalfi Coast below, the Hotel Caruso is crammed full of rich history, with its roots stretching back to the 11th century, when it blossomed as a luxe palace. The hotel’s infinity pool is shielded by a rose-lined walkway and the infinity edge blends seamlessly with the Mediterranean Sea below.
Sheraton Waikiki, USA
A stunning retreat for couples looking to relax in beautiful surroundings, the Sheraton Waikiki features an adult-only infinity pool that sprawls out towards the beach and provides incredible views of the ocean.
