Alila Villas, Uluwatu, Bali

Credited as being the first resort in Indonesia to receive the highest accolade in sustainable development certification, the design at Alila Villas Uluwatu tries to integrate architecture with the surrounding natural environment. As a result, the dramatic infinity pool runs along a clifftop plateau on the southern coastline of Bali’s Bukit peninsula, with a drop of hundreds of metres to the Indian Ocean below.

Adding to the dramatic impact are the ‘cabanas’, an exquisite feature of the hotel’s cutting edge and innovative design. Whilst the three bedroom villa is spectacular, their one-bedroom private villas are just as impressive, each coming with a private pool and a cabana looking out towards sea.
